 The vortext somehow sends Tai back home. Tai finds out that it's been a matter of hours, not days since he disappeared into the Digital World. Time between the two worlds flows differently.
He tries to take joy at finally being home with his sister, Kari, but feels guilty over leaving his friends behind. Things get stranger as Kari somehow seems to recognize Koromon and knows what Digimon are.
Disasters start hitting all over the world, and only Tai and Kari seem to notice that they are being caused by evil Digimon. Tai realizes that whatever affects the Digital World affects the Real World. So he and Agumon return to the Digital World to help solve its problems, which will in turn save the real world.
Sad to see her brother go, Kari accepts that it is his destiny and wishes he will return soon.

 Tai and Agumon return to the Digital World and find an abandoned Tokomon. In the time that Tai was gone, days have passed. T.K.'s run off with a new Digimon, DemiDevimon and left Tokomon alone.
Tai and Agumon confront DemiDevimon, who claims to be a friend, and offers some delicious mushrooms for the hungry pair. But a warning from Sora and the quick actions of Tokomon reveal that the mushrooms are poisonous, and will instead erase their memories.
Tokomon digivolves into Patomon and defeats DemiDevimon. T.K. apologizes to his best friend and Tai and T.K. decide to find the rest of their friends.

 T.K. finds Matt and Joe, who are working at a cafeteria being run by Digitomamon. Digitomamon is a crooked Digimon who tricked the two of them into working for him for free.
When they try to run for it, Digitomamon overwhelms them with his power, capturing T.K. Joe risks his life to save T.K., and this display of friendship inspires Matt to use his Crest of Friendship.
Garurumon digivolves into WereGarurumon and quickly defeats Digitomamon.

 Izzy and Tentomon are sucked into another dimension. This is a trap set up by Vademon, who tricks Izzy into giving up his curiosity.
Tentomon quickly begins to de-digivolve but manages to get Izzy to realize that he needs his curiosity. The two regain Izzy's curiosity and digivice. Tentomon then digivolves into MegaKabuterimon and defeats Vademon.
