 The Digidestined are tired and hungry. They find a shack where they think there's food, but it's a trap. The exhausted Gomamon and Palmon manage to digivolve to the Ultimate level to defeat Scorpiomon. They can't even stop to breathe though as MetalSeadramon finds them and chases them into the sea.

 Whamon manages to save the Digidestined and gives them the time they need to recuperate and plan their strategy. They begin a cat and mouse game of trying to evade MetalSeadramon's henchmen under the ocean. Izzy realizes the key to defeating MetalSeadramon lies with WarGreymon.

 The Digidestined and Whamon strike back against MetalSeadramon. They defeat him, but at the cost of Whamon's life.
Confused and disheartened, they are easy prey for Puppetmon, who kidnaps them in his mansion. T.K. manages to trick Puppetmon and free the others. But this ends up alienating Matt, who believes his only job is to protect T.K.
