 Takato and Guilmon find a new Digimon, Calumon. A mischievous Digimon, Calumon has been causing trouble all over the school. But all Calumon wants is to have some friends to play with. Takato and Henry decide to help Culumon by finding his Tamer. But none of the candidates seem to be a good fit, and unfortunately Evilmon appears to put an end to Calumon.

 Renamon and Rika are finding that their opponents are getting stronger each time. It’s only due to the last minute intervention of Takato and Henry that Renamon is able to defeat Allomon. Rika was especially irritated that Renamon would not Digivolve, even though Rika ordered her to do so. Their relationship climaxes when Dokugumon appears, and not even Rika’s strongest cards can hurt Dokugumon. The battle turns for the worst when Renamon takes the full effects of Dokugumon’s poisonous attack to save Rika. It looks like the end unless Renamon can somehow Digivolve into Kyuupimon.

 Takato goes to talk to Rika to find out more about what it means to be a Digimon Tamer. Afterwards, he discovers that Guilmon is disappearing. What does the mysterious organization Hypnos have to do with it? With Henry and Rika’s help, Takato must brave inside a mysterious digital field to find his best friend and somehow save him.

 Takato daydreams about what Guilmon’s Champion form would look like, and starts to draw a picture of Growlmon. In the meanwhile, Guilmon has his first encountered with Impmon. Discovering that Guilmon had wondered off again, Takato finds Guilmon at the park, but so does Devidramon. Takato is too inexperienced to help Guilmon during the battle, for Devidramon is too powerful. Not even a boosted fireball from Guilmon can hurt Devidramon. The battle quickly turns for the worse until Culumon manages to trigger the hidden power within Guilmon…..
