 Defeated once more by the Digidestined, Ken decides to stay in the Digital World permanently.
And he has a new plan, what better way to stop his opponents then by turning one of their greatest friends against them? Ken captures his latest Digimon....Agumon.
Agumon is forced to digivolve into SkullGreymon. And the Digidestined must somehow survive the awesome onslaught of an Ultimate-level Digimon who used to be their friend.

 Tai joins the rest of the Digidestined in freeing Agumon from the clutches of the Digimon Emperor. Agumon proves to be too powerful for the Digimon Emperor, so he is forced to design a new, more powerful control device, the Dark Spiral.
Concerned over Ken's growing evil, Wormmon frees Agumon. But Agumon's reunion with Tai is short-lived as Ken captures him once again and forces Agumon to digivolve into MetalGreymon, one of the most powerful Digimon of all.

 The Digidestined fight a desperate battle against Metal Greymon. Even with Matt and Garurumon's help, they still can't defeat the Ultimate-level Digimon.
They find a new Digi-egg, the Digi-egg of Friendship, but no one can lift it. It seems to be meant for Davis, but Davis is of no help, unable to fight against MetalGreymon for fear of hurting him.
It isn't until Patamon is captured while rescuing Veemon that Davis realizes that friendship also means having to make hard decisions to help friends.
And this truth helps him accept the power of the Digi-egg of Friendship. A new Digimon is born, Raidramon. Can they save MetalGreymon?

 Biyomon is captured and needs Sora's help. The Digidestined and Sora arrive to find that Biyomon's been arrested by Starmon, a good Digimon who's under the control of the Digimon Emperor. Worse, they're under arrest too.
Deputymon, Starmon's rival comes to free just the girls (because boys cheat at cards), leaving Davis, T.K. and Cody to find their own way out.
The Digidestined must stop the conflict between Starmon and Deputymon and destroy the Dark Spire.
